MILL VALLEY SPLICING, INC.
For three generations Mill Valley Splicing has provided quality lifting products, services and solutions for our customer's needs. Started in 1947 by Walter Boyko in Belchertown, Massachusetts, Mill Valley Splicing continues to help customers make their business strong. Our focus is to provide customers with consistent and reliable service. We strive to provide outstanding delivery for all products we offer.
Our 12,000 square foot facility is warehouse to wire rope, chain, web slings, cordage and many other products. We have a 500 & 1500 Ton National Hydraulic Swaging Machine. We fabricate 1/32" to 3-1/2" diameter wire rope slings and assemblies.
WIRE ROPE
For over 50 years we have been providing wire rope of all sizes and constructions: small to large diameter, domestic to imported, and general purpose to rotation resistant and high performance. We stock a wide range of wire rope products. To add to our diverse inventory we stock stainless steel and galvanized aircraft quality along with commercial grade.
CHAIN
We stock chain for a variety of applications from lifting to transport tie-down. We use 7/32" to 1-1/4" diameter Grade 80 chain to assemble certified lifting chain slings in numerous configurations. Made to order and tagged as required by OSHA, our products are ready to be assembled in our facility.
WEB SLINGS/ROUNDSLINGS
Synthetic slings are stocked in a variety of styles and capacities. All slings are tagged to meet OSHA requirements. They offer a light weight approach to certain lifting & rigging situations.
TESTING
In 1980 Mill Valley Splicing installed a fixed horizontal testing bed. Over 170 feet in length and 360,000 pound maximum load, the test bed along with custom testing euipment allow us to provide proof testing and certification of wide range of products. This service helps our customers satisfy annual and periodic proof testing requirements. When visual inspection is not suitable, proof testing to ANSI/ASME standards gives our customers documentation and confidence in the products being used for overhead lifting. Custom beams and lifting fixtures have been tested to as much as 1 Million Pounds at our facility with Mill Valley Splicing custom testing equipment.
PRE-STRETCH
Our 180 foot long test bed with Lucker grips allows us to pre-stretch wire rope up to
2-1/4" and structural strand to 2" diameter. This is a service offered to remove structural stretch of wire rope or structural strand and ensure accurate measurements where limited elongation is required.
FABRICATION
Fabrication is performed right here at our facility. The methods of fabrication we perform are flemish eye, swaged fittings, speltering (zinc and resin), turnback, hand tuck, grommet sling, and transmission splicing.
